I am Eman, a 19-year-old designing student, makeup artist, and an ibexians (Jack of all trades, master of none). To be honest, my life has been a rollercoaster ride and not the good type (haha), but I learned like anything. I was only 18 when one of my cousins recommended me to ibex. I applied and was hired as a Customer Support Specialist. Oh boy, what an experience! At first, it took me a good one week to settle, but it wasn’t hard. Like any other person, I was a little skeptical about doing night shifts, but the environment really impressed me. Working at a corporate office that too a multinational firm at 18 was like living a dream. After looking at my skills and expertise, I was promoted to the TV department. I was pretty happy with the new role. I started working as a TV Technical Expert. This new role was very technical and different, and I was surprised to see that ibex has so much to offer me. People have a different perspective about ibex., but it’s more than a BPO company for me. Learning about the corporate world is one thing, but learning about yourself is something totally different. ibex. played a major role in helping me gain more confidence and help with my career as well. Every individual at ibex. is extremely helpful, and with that, you would also find a different story at every nook and cranny of this place. The culture here promotes diversity and equality, which we don’t quite see or find everywhere in Pakistan. I was very nervous about my client interview, but my colleagues were, so supportive. Despite knowing that I was new not only in this company but to this whole corporate world, they made me feel at home from day one. I can still recall that one time when I was extremely anxious and stressed out because of a few things in my life. My friends here surprised me with my favorite food and chocolates. These small gestures in workplaces play a huge role in an employee's mental health. They make work feel like a party, and things just start falling into the right place; just because you are surrounded by good people. Despite being in a leadership position everyone here works together like it’s one big family. If I am being honest managing your career, personal life, and education is not a piece of cake, but the management made it as flexible as they could for each one of us who are studying. I still remember there was a time when I was mentally in a very bad place, and I needed some days off from work, and my lead supervisor gave me three days off without any question, something I would never forget. The management here tries their 100% to make the environment as chill as possible since working night shifts can take a toll on our minds. Enough about work! Let me tell you a little about the Fun Side Of ibex. As I already mentioned, how tough work life can be for an employee, but the management tried to arrange picnics for us every two months. Every other month we had a new fun activity or picnic that balanced out everything. Let me tell you how I found my dream job. After a year of working as a TV technical expert, I found a new job opening here to grow my skillset in the Branding department of ibex. The minute I saw the opening, I knew this was my chance to do something I always wanted to. I gave my interview and met the senior manager of the branding team. I was welcomed into the team, and everyone was extremely nice. Getting into marketing was like walking in a new world. Working as a Marketing Executive at the age of 19 was a milestone for me. One thing is certain, ibex. taught me how challenging life can be at times, but when life gives you a lemon, you make lemonade out of it. It’s safe to say that other than good communication skills, I have also learned how to look at life from a different perspective.
